DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt.
Andres J.
Contreras, 23, of Huntington Park, Calif., died on July 15 of injuries sustained when his HMMWV encountered an improvised explosive device in Baghdad, Iraq during combat operations.
Contreras was assigned to the 519th Military Police Battalion, 1st Combat Support Brigade, Fort Polk, La.
