In view of Russia’s continuing military build-up in and around Ukraine, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed on 26 January 2022 that NATO has conveyed its written proposals to Russia, in parallel with the United States.

On 24 January 2022, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg took part in a virtual meeting organised by President of the United States Joe Biden on Russia’s continued military build-up in and around Ukraine and its implications for European and international security.
