Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on 3 November 2022 met the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in Istanbul. They addressed a range of issues, including Türkiye’s contributions to NATO security, the situation in the Aegean, the common fight against terrorism, Finland’s and Sweden’s accession to NATO, and Allied support for Ukraine.

NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoană, spoke on 3 November 2022 at the Prague Cyber Security Conference 2022. He said that there is an ongoing battle of ideas between free, democratic nations and authoritarian regimes, including in the field of technology, and that NATO Allies are committed to the principles of responsible use that reflect our values and human rights.

The US Army deployed advanced rocket artillery to Latvia as part of a multinational exercise. The M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, arrived in Latvia on 26 September to participate in Exercise Silver Arrow 22. The launchers were flown from Germany to Latvia by US Air Force MC-130J Commando II transport aircraft based in the United Kingdom. Exercise Silver Arrow 22 ran from 19 to 30 September 2022.
