NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on 14 July 2025 to advance critical efforts in support of Ukraineâs defence against Russian aggression. Speaking to press in the Oval Office, Mr Rutte hailed President Trumpâs pivotal decision to ensure Ukraine receives essential military resources, with NATO coordinating the effort with funding from Allies in Europe and Canada.

We strongly condemn Russiaâs malicious cyber activities, which constitute a threat to Allied security. We stand in solidarity and recognise that Estonia, France, the United Kingdom and the United States have recently attributed malicious cyber activity targeting several NATO Allies and Ukraine to Russiaâs military intelligence service (GRU).

She explained the outcome of the NATO Summit in The Hague, called for stronger cooperation with the European Union (EU), and answered questions from Members of the European Parliament.

On 16 July 2025, the North Atlantic Council approved the 2026-2030 Common Funding Resource Plan. This newest Resource Plan gives an overview of the resource demands over the next five years and allocates the necessary common funds to reflect NATOâs increased level of ambition. In approving this Resource Plan, the Council agreed the 2026 ceilings for the commonâfunded Military and Civil Budgets, as well as for NATOâs Security Investment Programme, allocating in total EUR 5.3 billion.

On 4-16 July 2025, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee (CMC), Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, travelled to Bulgaria on the invitation of the Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov. In Sofia, the CMC had the opportunity to meet the countryâs top military and political leadership, but also to pay respects at the Unknown Soldier Memorial and visit the Novo Selo Training Area (NSTA).

From 6 to 10 July 2025, four teams of seven researchers and professors from universities in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States and Austria challenged each other at the Huntsville UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) and C-UAS (Counter-UAS) test range in Alabama, as part of a competition supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
