JOHNSON SPACE CENTER TO PARTICIPATE IN TEXAS RECYCLES DAY

HOUSTON – Johnson Space Center will participate in an electronic waste recycling event at Space Center Houston from 10 a m to 4 p m Nov 15 The event is open and free to the public and allows anyone in the community to dispose of electronics in an environmentally friendly manner

“This is a great opportunity to educate people on how to properly dispose of their electronic material Many times electronic waste either ends up in landfills, which threatens polluting our water or in developing nations where workers are exposed to harsh chemicals and heavy pollution,” said Courtney Lindberg, JSC Recycling and Sustainable Acquisition Specialist

Examples of accepted material include all working and non-working: - Computer equipment - TVs and VCRs - Audio visual equipment - Cell and household phones - Power Supplies - Copiers - Cameras
