Readers of this list-serv may be interested to know that the AIAA has announced the winner of this year's Gardner-Lasser Aerospace History Literature Award:
Dr. Bill Clancey's "Working on Mars: Voyages of Scientific Discovery with the Mars Exploration Rovers" published by MIT Press in August 2012.
The award is presented for the best original contribution to the field of aeronautical or astronautical non-fiction
literature published in the last five years dealing with the science, technology, and/or impact of aeronautics or astronautics on society.
Those of us in the History Program Office are particularly pleased with this award since Dr. Clancey's work was supported by a grant from NASA's Science Mission Directorate and managed through the History Program Office.
Our congratulations to Dr. Clancey! We look forward to seeing him presented with the award at the AIAA SciTech2014 forum in January.
Bill Barry
