NASA will hold a media teleconference to discuss its X-57 Maxwell all-electric aircraft project at 12 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 23. Audio of the call will stream live on the agencyâs website. The goal of the X-57 project is to share the knowledge NASA has gained through development of the aircraftâs electric propulsion-focused design and airworthiness process with regulators. This information will advance certification approaches for electric propulsion in emerging electric aircraft markets. Scheduled participants in the call will include: - Bradley C. Flick, director, NASAâs Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California
- Kate McMurtry, deputy director for the Integrated Aviation Systems Program, NASAâs Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate
- Vincent Schultz, X-57 deputy project manager, NASA Armstrong
- Sean Clarke, X-57 principal investigator, NASA Armstrong
Media interested in participating in the teleconference should RSVP by emailing matthew.r.kamlet@nasa.gov. NASAâs goal of developing knowledge through the X-57 project is part of the agencyâs commitment to supporting the U.S. climate goal of achieving net-zero aviation greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
