A GASH IN THE SUN'S ATMOSPHERE: An unusually wide hole has opened in the sun's atmosphere, and it is spewing a fan-shaped stream of solar wind toward Earth. NOAA forecasters say there is a 55% chance of minor G1-class geomagnetic storms when the solar wind arrives, probably during the late hours of March 14th.
