Marine, Soldier Killed in Iraq; Earlier Casualty IdentifiedAmerican Forces Press Service | WASHINGTON, July 3, 2006 A Marine was killed in action today in Iraq's Anbar province, a soldier died in a roadside bomb explosion yesterday north of Baghdad, and the Defense Department has identified an airman who died in Iraq over the weekend.
The names of the Marine and the soldier are being withheld until their families are notified.
Meanwhile, the Defense Department has identified an airman supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom who died over the weekend.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Carl Jerome Ware Jr., 22, of Glassboro, N.J., died July 1 from a noncombat-related cause at Camp Bucca, Iraq.
He was assigned to the 15th Security Forces Squadron, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
