CONTRACTS
AIR FORCE
ATK Space Systems Inc., Clearfield, Utah, is being awarded a $21,689,885 indefinite-quantity/indefinite-delivery contract.
This action provides for the development and demonstration of automated composite production technologies enabling enhanced design and manufacturing of cost-effective large composite structures for use on space launch vehicles.
The technologies to be developed will enable increased scale, performance and reliability while providing design flexibility and an improvement in cost for current and future space launch vehicles.
At this time, $1,923,322 has been obligated.
Solicitations began September 2005 and negotiations were complete in June 2006.
This work will be complete October 2011.
Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., is the contracting activity (FA9453-06-D-0368).
McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $11,990,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract modification.
This contract action provides for on-board inert gas generation long lead line replaceable unit spares for C-17 aircraft P1-P137.
At this time, $5,995,000 has been obligated.
Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8614-04-C-2004/P00118).
NAVY
CACI Systems, Inc., Chantilly, Va., is being awarded an $18,879,539 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide technical and engineering services for the special communications requirements division of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.
This contract provides support to various Navy, Army, Air Force, Special Operations Forces, and other agencies command, control, computers, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance electronic systems.
The estimated level of effort for this contract is 286,000 man-hours.
Work will be performed in Lexington Park, Md., (80 percent) and St.
Inigoes, (20 percent) and is expected to be completed in July 2007.
Contract funds in the amount of $289,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
This contract was competitively procured by electronic request for proposals, with 54 proposals solicited and one offer received.
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St.
Inigoes, Md., is the contracting activity (N00421-06-C-0074).
Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded an $11,100,000 modification under previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract for procurement of spares for the advanced targeting forward looking infrared radar system used on the F/A-18 aircraft.
Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif., and work is expected to be completed by December 2007.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
This contract was not competitively procured.
The Naval Inventory Control Point is the contracting activity.
SPACE AND MISSLE DEFENSE COMMAND
The Wexford Group International*, Vienna, Va., was awarded on July 7, 2006, a delivery order amount of $9,372,051 as part of a $237,818,899 fixed-price, level-of-effort contract for contractual support requirements for the Asymmetric Warfare Group Headquarters.
Work will be performed at Fort Meade, Md., and is expected to be completed by July 4, 2011.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
There were an unknown number of bids solicited via the World Wide Web on March 6, 2006, and two bids were received.
