STEREO LAUNCH ON NASA TV Date/Time/Location: Wednesday, Oct 25, 8:38 - 8:53 p m EDT, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station The Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO) is set to fly into orbit aboard a Boeing Delta II rocket and is the third mission in NASA's Solar Terrestrial Probes program (STP) that will provide a 3-D view of the sun During this two-year mission, the two nearly identical observatories will dramatically improve understanding of the powerful solar eruptions that can send more than a billion tons of the sun's outer atmosphere hurtling into space These eruptions, which are hazardous to scientific spacecraft and astronauts, can disrupt satellites, radio communications and power systems Watch live on NASA TV or visit, http://www nasa gov/mission_pages/stereo/main/index html
