ANNUAL NASA-SPONSORED BUSINESS EXPO SET FOR OCT 16
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla -- Business leaders who want to better understand how to contract with the government can attend Business EXPO 2007 from 9 a m to 3 p m EDT Tuesday, Oct 16, at Port Canaveral's Cruise Terminal No 4 Admission is free and open to the public
The annual trade show, which is sponsored by the NASA Kennedy Space Center Small Business Council, 45th Space Wing and Canaveral Port Authority, will feature more than 175 business and government exhibitors from Brevard County and across the country Government purchasing agents also may want to attend the EXPO to learn what local and national vendors have to offer
Exhibitors will include vendors from a variety of product and service areas, including computer technology, communication equipment and services, construction and safety products Representatives of NASA, the 45th Space Wing, Kennedy Space Center prime contractors, local chambers of commerce, and others will be available to give out information and answer specific questions about doing business with their respective organizations

During the kick-off event, speakers will include Florida's Lt Governor Jeff Kottkamp, NASA Assistant Administrator for Small Business Programs Glenn Delgado, Kennedy Procurement Officer Dudley Cannon, Economic Development Commission President and CEO Lynda Weatherman, U S Congressman Dave Weldon's District Director Fred Kirschstein, and other representatives from the 45th Space Wing and Port Canaveral Winners of the Kennedy Contractor Awards also will be announced
The EXPO is managed by NASA's Central Industry Assistance Office, which provides support to businesses that want to do business at Kennedy The office works with the Kennedy Small Business Council, which consists of Kennedy's prime contractors, to help small businesses learn how to navigate in the world of government contracting By co-sponsoring the EXPO, the council provides a one-stop environment for buyers and sellers
