SPACE STATION ASTRONAUT CLAY ANDERSON AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEWS
HOUSTON - NASA astronaut Clay Anderson, a Nebraska native who returned to Earth on Nov 7 after living and working five months aboard the International Space Station, will be available for satellite interviews from 6 - 8 a m CST on Thursday, Nov 29
Anderson was part of the Expedition 15 crew aboard the station after launching to the complex on space shuttle Atlantis June 8 During his stay on orbit, Anderson conducted three spacewalks His work began the first expansion of the station's living and working space in more than six years and set the stage for the addition of the European Space Agency's Columbus Laboratory, targeted to launch in early December
To participate in the interviews, reporters should contact producer Stephanie Stoll at 281-483-9071, or by pager at 713-508-0581, no later than 3 p m Wednesday, Nov 28 B-roll featuring highlights of Anderson's mission will air at 5:30 a m , prior to the start of the interviews
Anderson was born in Omaha and considers Ashland, Neb , his hometown He received his bachelor's degree in physics from Hastings College, Hastings, Neb , in 1981 and a master's in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, in 1983 He applied to the astronaut program 15 times before getting selected in 1998
