NASA UPDATES MEDIA BADGING AND COVERAGE FOR GOES-O LAUNCH

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla - NASA's Kennedy Space Center is updating its media badging support and NASA Television coverage for the launch of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-O spacecraft GOES-O is scheduled to lift off on Friday, June 26, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida The one-hour launch window extends from 6:14 to 7:14 p m EDT

NASA will provide television, Internet and photo coverage of the launch starting with a prelaunch news conference at 1 p m on Thursday, June 25, at Kennedy's Press Site

NASA Television now will carry the prelaunch news conference and the GOES-O launch on all NASA TV channels Countdown coverage will begin at 4 p m and will conclude 30 minutes after liftoff For NASA TV downlink information, schedules and links to streaming video, visit:

Journalists who need media accreditation for Kennedy Space Center to cover the GOES-O prelaunch news conference and launch aboard the Delta IV should complete the accreditation process via the Web by going to:

One June 26, those U S media covering launch should pick up their badges at the Kennedy Space Center Badging Office located west of Gate 3 on State Road 405 at 3:30 p m

GOES-O is the second of three in the current series of geostationary weather and environmental satellites built for NASA by Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems It will be launched into orbit for NASA aboard a Boeing Delta IV rocket
