JOHNSON SPACE CENTER DIRECTOR�S STATEMENT ON FY 2012 BUDGET

HOUSTON -- NASA announced Monday an $18 7 billion budget request for fiscal year 2012 that supports a reinvigorated path of innovation, technological development and scientific discovery

Johnson Space Center Director Mike Coats provided the following statement regarding the budget announcement

�In a time when fiscal concerns are paramount in Washington, this budget represents strong support for NASA,� Coats said �The entire federal budget is under intense pressure, but the support in this budget will enable NASA and Johnson to complete the Space Shuttle Program, operate the International Space Station and develop a new multi-purpose crew vehicle We will also continue to partner with industry to develop commercially provided human access to space �
