ISS

Expedition 73 continues

On Oct 26 JAXA launched the HTV-X1 cargo ship HTV-X is a second generation Japanese ISS cargo ship Launch mass about 16000 kg of which the SM was 3800 kg, the PM 3800 kg, press cargo 4000 kg, external cargo 2000 kg, consumables 2400 kg Size is 8 0m long 4 4m dia with 18 2m solar panel span It consists of a pressurized module with CBM port, a service module (built at MELCO/Kanagawa) with an IHI-built MMH/NTO propulsion system using twelve 120N HBT-1 thrusters, and an exposed cargo section

HTV-X1's exposed cargo section carries the i-SEEP-3B device that will be installed on the Kibo EFU at EFU5; and the DELIGHT deployable structure test which will be activated after ISS departure HTV-X1 also carries an H-SSOD cubesat deployer carrying the 6U Tenkoh-2 cubesat for Nihon Univ

Inside HTV-X's pressurized section are cargo bags including a J-SSOD cubesat deployer to be transferred to the Kibo module, carrying Gxiba-1 (UPAEP Mexico), UiTMSat-2 (UITM, Malaysia), CORAL (Sapienza, Italy), Knacskat 2 (KMUT, Thailand), LEOPARD (Kyutech), and HMUSAT2 (Hokkaido U of Sci )

HTV-X1 arrived at ISS on Oct 29, with rendezvous at 250 m distance at 1320 UTC After some manuevering evaluations, the Canadarm-2 grappled the HTV at 1558 UTC Berthing at Harmony nadir was complete by 1850 UTC

On Oct 28 astronauts Ryzhikov and Zubritskiy, in spacesuits Orlan MKS-7 and MKS-6, made spacewalk VKD-65 from the Poisk airlock on Oct 28, with hatch open from 1418:01 to 2112:28 UTC and depressurization from 1357 to 2115 UTC Among other activities they installed the IPI-500 experiment on the Nauka module

On Nov 7 at 1746 UTC Dragon CRS-33 carried out another 0 5m/s ISS reboost

Chinese Space Station

The CSS made a 3 2m/s orbit reboost on Oct 17 at about 0947 UTC, probably using the engines on the Tianzhou-9 freighter On Oct 29 at about 1330 the station made a further 1 5 m/s boost

Shenzhou 21 was launched on Oct 31, with Col Zhang Lu, Maj Wu Fei and Dr Zhang Hongzhang aboard It docked with the Tianhe forward port at 1922 UTC

Following the discovery of a cracked window pane in the Shenzhou 20 descent module, the return to Earth of the Expedition 9 crew of Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui and Wang Jie was postponed On Nov 14 they left the station aboard Shenzhou 21, undocking at 0314 UTC and landing at 0840 UTC

On Nov 15 at 0928, the station's orbit was again reboosted with a 3 6 m/s burn

Following this, Zhang, Wu and Zhang remain on board the station with the compromised Shenzhou 20 ferry ship

Other Falcon 9 launches

On Oct 24 SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 with the Spainsat NG-II military communications satellite for Hisdesat The 6100 kg satellite is an Airbus Eurostar NEO As of Nov 17 the sat had reached 2377 x 67063 km x 20 deg, on its way to GEO

On Nov 2 SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 with the Bandwagon 4 rideshare payload It deployed the ADD-425-5 radar sat for S Korea, the Haven Demo test payload for VAST Space, the FGN-100-d2 test satellite for Fergani Space (Turkey), and a set of small satellites: TAURUS 1 to 4 for Turksat Baryon-1L, 1N, 1P for a secret commercial customer - we don't even know which country CEVROSAT for Czechia's CEVRO Tomorrow-S8 and S9 weather sats for US operator Tomorrow io Foresight-3, 4 and 5, radar sats for UAE's Space42 based on the ICEYE sat Starcloud-1, a test satellite for orbital data centers Lemur-2 Affie-Wauwie for Spire, with an unknown mission As of Nov 19, no orbit data was available for the launch
