General Officer Announcements

           Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announces that the President has nominated:

            Maj. Gen. Kevin T. Campbell, Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, Army Space and Missile Defense Command/United States Army Forces Strategic Command, Arlington, Va.  He is currently serving as chief of staff, United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.

            Maj. Gen. Thomas R. Turner II, Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, Fifth Army, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  He is currently serving as commanding general, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, Ky. and is currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq.
