Flag Officer Assignments

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Mullen announced the following flag officer assignments:

Rear Adm. (lower half) Christine S. Hunter is being assigned as commander, Navy medicine west/commander, Naval Medical Center, San Diego, Calif.  Hunter is currently serving as chief of staff, program executive officer, Bureau of Medicine, Washington, D.C.

Rear Adm. (lower half)(selectee) David H. Buss is being assigned as chief of staff for Navy enterprise, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Buss is currently serving as special assistant to the commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif.

Rear Adm. (lower half)(selectee) John N. Christenson is being assigned as commander, Mine Warfare Command, Corpus Christi, Texas.  Christenson is currently serving as commanding officer, Surface Warfare Officers School Command, Newport, R.I.

Rear Adm. (lower half)(selectee) Arnold O. Lotring Jr., is being assigned as commander,  Navy Region Midwest/commander, Naval Service Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.  Lotring is currently serving as commanding officer, Center for Submarine Learning Center, Groton, Conn.
