The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine, who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt.
John P.
Phillips, 29, of St.
Stephen, S.C., died Aug.
16 at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, from wounds received while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq, on March 7.
He was assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan.
