Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Navy Vice Adm. Kevin J. Cosgriff, for reappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command and commander, Fifth Fleet, in Bahrain. Cosgriff is currently serving as deputy commander and chief of staff, U.S. Atlantic Fleet/Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Vice Adm. Mark P. Fitzgerald for reappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as director, Navy Staff, N09B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, DC. Fitzgerald is currently serving as commander, Second Fleet, Norfolk, Va.
