The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl.
Jonerik Loney, 21, of Hartselle, Ala., died Nov.
28 in Hit, Iraq, of injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations.
Loney was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.
