5TH ANNIVERSARY of the Operation
Active Endeavour
Naples, 12 December 2006. On 15 December 2006, a ceremony to
celebrate the 5th anniversary of Operation
Active Endeavour will be held at the Allied Maritime Component Command
Headquarters (CC-Mar), Naples.
Presiding over the ceremony will be Admiral H.G. Ulrich III, Commander
Allied Joint Force Command Naples. Guests will include several senior
NATO and Partner Nation officials from contributing nations and local
military and political authorities, representatives from Shipping
Companies and families and friends of those serving at the HQ.
Authorities from Partnership for Peace (PFP) and Mediterranean Dialogue
(MD) nations will also be invited to join in this celebration.
The Ceremony will be conducted on Nisida Island where units from the
Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) will be anchored close by.
During the Ceremony the CC-Mar Naples Flag will be awarded a Campaign
Pennant in recognition of the HeadquartersÂ’ efforts in conducting this
operation. A number of personnel will also be awarded the NATO medal,
while HQ personnel will receive a Congratulatory Certificate.

REGISTRATION
Media organisations wishing to register representatives for the
event must provide - by fax - to the following Public Information Office,
not later than 1600 on 14 Dec 2006, full name of the journalists, their
identification number, and model/licence plate of any vehicle requiring
access to Nisida Compound. Translation facility will be available during
the Media opportunity.
