The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

David E.
Dietrich, 21, of Marysville, Pa., died Dec.
29 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire while on combat patrol.
Dietrich was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany.
