The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc.
Ryan R.
Berg, 19, of Sabine Pass, Texas, died Jan.
9 in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire.
Berg was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
