The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Michael L.
Mundell, 47, of Brandenburg, Ky., died Jan.
5 in Fallujah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations.
Mundell was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 108th Division (Institutional Training), Spartanburg, S.C.
