STATEMENT BY THE SECRETARY GENERAL ON ATTACKS IN TURKEY

 

 

I have learned with great sadness the news about the recent death of 13 Turkish soldiers as a result of attacks by terrorists in south-east Turkey. Our thoughts are with the families of the military and the people of Turkey.

 

I condemn in the strongest possible terms this attack. The terrorist threat presented by such violence is unacceptable and Turkey deserves full support of its Allies. NATO will continue a steadfast defence against terrorism; we will not allow terrorists to prevail.
