NATO and Ukraine pledge to deepen cooperation

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko was welcomed for the first time to NATO Headquarters by NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on 29 January 2008. They discussed the NATO-Ukraine Intensified Dialogue, and both pledged to deepen it.

Chairman of the NATO Military Committee visits Spain

General Ray Henault, Chairman of the Military Committee, paid an official visit to Spain, from 24-27 January, where he met the Chief of Defence, Army General Felix Sanz Roldan, along with Spanish Government officials, to discuss NATO priorities and ways in which Spain could enhance its valued contribution to Alliance operations.

Lieutenant General Xavier de Marnhac, the Commander of KFOR and Lieutenant General Zdravko Ponos, the Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, met in Nis, Republic of Serbia. It was a regular meeting on the highest level between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR.
