NATO sponsors a Precision Airdrop Capabilities demonstration

From 26 to 29 May 2008, NATO will sponsor a Precision Airdrop Capabilities demonstration at the Centre d’Essais Lancement de Missiles at Biscarrosse and at Cazaux Air Base in France. During this event the latest in precision aerial delivery systems and technology will be demonstrated, such as GPS-guided cargo parachute and weather systems.

NATO prepares for submarine search and rescue exercise

Bold Monarch 2008 (BMH 08), a live submarine escape and rescue exercise, will be held in Norway from 26 May to 6 June. The aim is to train and demonstrate that NATO, in participation with other submarine operating nations, can perform life-saving operations including all medical aspects involved in a submarine disaster.

Conference focuses on reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan

NATO Joint Force Command Headquarters Brunssum organized the annual Afghanistan Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRT) Conference in Maastricht on 14 and 15 May 2008. The aim of the conference was to draw on the experience gained by the PRTs and identify practical steps to accelerate progress toward the goals of bringing peace and stability to the people of Afghanistan.
