Chairman of the NATO Military Committee handover
NATO HQ,
BRUSSELS -- Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, former Chief of
the Italian Defense Staff, tomorrow afternoon will assume the position of
Chairman of the NATO Military Committee – NATO’s top military officer – from
outgoing Canadian Gen. Ray Henault. A ceremony will be held in the afternoon at
the NATO HQ and will be witnessed by the NATO Secretary General and Chiefs of
Defence of member countries.
Notes: No open media opportunity
will be available on the handover day, though photo, video, and the text of
remarks will be available on Friday from approximately 1600 hrs at
www.nato.int/ims.
