Exoplanets and Life Beyond Earth

The Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (DoSER) Program at the American Association for the Advancement of Science invites you to join us:

as we explore new findings in the search for planets and life beyond Earth. No longer science fiction, new extrasolar planets are being discovered at an incredible rate, some potentially habitable. Astrobiologist Stephen Freeland will describe how the burgeoning field of astrobiology is revealing the robust and tenacious nature of life even in extreme conditions on Earth and whether we can expect life elsewhere to be common. Historian Steven Dick will respond with insights on the implications of these new findings for our understanding of the significance of life in the universe.
