A curator in the Space History Department of the National Air and Space Museum, Mike is well known for his incisive, carefully researched, award–winning works, including: "The Rocket and the Reich," and "Von Braun: Dreamer of Space, Engineer of War." Mike will be speaking to us about his latest research into science mission planning at NASA, focusing on the first mission to Pluto, New Horizons. His talk is entitled “First Mission to Pluto: Policy, Politics, Science and Technology in the Origins of New Horizons, 1989-2003.”
