February 14, 2014

PO.DAAC Data Users,

On 13 February 2014 the Tellus land mass grid filenames have been changed to a new convention. The purpose of this new convention is to provide more self-description, provenance and traceability of each file. In addition to this change, the smooth radius was increased from 200km to 300km.

An explanation of this new file naming convention is provided here:

In response to this update, the netCDF, ASCII, GeoTIFF, and animated GIF datasets have been split into three separate dataset entries via the PO.DAAC web portal, corresponding to: CSR, GFZ, and JPL.

To access the complete list of Tellus dataset via the web portal, please visit: http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/datasetlist?ids=Collections&values=TELLUS

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this update, please contact podaac@podaac.jpl.nasa.gov

Respectfully,
PO.DAAC User Services
