Reprocessed Sea Surface Temperature (SST) Level 3 v2014.0 datasets produced by the NASA Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG) from the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on Aqua and Terra satellites are now available. There are total 48 datasets including daily, 8 day average, monthly average and annual average at 4 km and 9 km spatial resolutions from the mid-IR and thermal bands. The Level 3 v2014.0 datasets have a number of improvements over the previous version including destriping, updated instrument calibration and improved algorithms. These datasets are in netCDF4 format.

The previous versions of these MODIS SST data that were in HDF4 format will remain accessible via FTP for a period of time.
 
Please note that OPeNDAP access is not available yet.  We are working to correct the problem.
