BIG ACTIVITY ON THE SUN: Sunspot numbers remain very low as Solar Minimum continues. Nevertheless, there is some big activity on the sun today. Really big. NASA satellites and amateur astronomers are monitoring a giant filament of magnetism jutting out from the edge of the solar disk. The glowing structure is fully one-tenth of the sun's diameter.
