Dr. Andy Bruno, an Associate Professor of History and Environmental Studies at Northern Illinois University, will examine one of the lingering unsolved scientific mysteries of the twentieth century.  In June 1908, a fragment of an asteroid likely erupted into an airburst explosion over an isolated section of Siberia.  He will discuss how the Soviet expeditions of the late 1920s, the tumultuous character of Soviet culture, and the episode’s inherent properties all made it such an enigmatic event.

Date/Time/Location: Wednesday, March 13, noon, NASA HQ, room 9H40
