SPRINGTIME CRACKS ARE OPENING IN EARTH'S MAGNETIC FIELD: Studies show that March is the most geomagnetically active month of the year. The reason is springtime. Researchers have long known that around the time of the vernal equinox "cracks" tend to form in Earth's magnetic field. Solar wind pours in to energize magnetic unrest.
