NATO Secretary General to visit Australia

The NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will travel to Australia between Tuesday 6 August and Thursday 8 August 2019.

On 7 August, Mr. Stoltenberg will meet Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Foreign Minister Marise Payne, Defence Minister Linda Reynolds and other senior officials in Sydney. The Secretary General will also participate in a signing ceremony for an enhanced partnership plan between NATO and Australia. He will close the day with an event at the Lowy Institute.

On 8 August, Mr. Stoltenberg will have a series of meetings with Australian foreign and defence officials in Canberra. He will also lay a wreath at the Australian War Memorial. The Secretary General’s visit will conclude with an event hosted by the Institute for Regional Security and the Australian National University's Strategic and Defence Studies Centre.

Visite du secrétaire général de l’OTAN en Australie

Le secrétaire général de l'OTAN, Jens Stoltenberg, sera en Australie du mardi 6 au jeudi 8 août 2019.

Le 7 août, M. Stoltenberg rencontrera le premier ministre, Scott Morrison, la ministre des Affaires étrangères, Marise Payne, la ministre de la Défense, Linda Reynolds, ainsi que d’autres hauts responsables à Sydney. Le secrétaire général participera également à la cérémonie de signature d’un plan de partenariat renforcé entre l’OTAN et l’Australie. Il clôturera la journée par un discours au Lowy Institute.

Le 8 août, M. Stoltenberg participera à une série de réunions avec divers responsables australiens des affaires étrangères et de la défense à Canberra. Il déposera également une gerbe au Mémorial australien de la guerre. La visite du secrétaire général se terminera par une rencontre organisée par l’Institute for Regional Security ainsi que par le Strategic and Defence Studies Centre de l’université nationale d’Australie.
