MIDSUMMER AURORAS IN THE USA: This morning a fast-moving stream of solar wind hit Earth's magnetic field. First contact produced a G1-class geomagnetic storm and auroras in northern-tier US states visible even through city lights. Currently, the solar wind speed is increasing toward 700 km/s, which means more Northern Lights are possible tonight. Visit Spaceweather.com for more information and updates.
