NOCTILUCENT CLOUDS IN THE USA: Last night, multiple observers in northern-tier US states witnessed bright noctilucent clouds (NLCs). The long-awaited sightings could herald the first low-latitude excursion of 2021. NLCs are made of frosted meteor smoke, and in the past they have spread as far south as Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
