On 1 July 2021, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg travelled to the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), where he met with the KFOR Commander (Major General Franco Federici), personnel from 27 troop-contributing nations (including NATO Allies and partners), and the Director of the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (Brigadier General Jörg Rüter).

NATO on 1 July 2021 marked the 60th anniversary of the Alliance’s mission to keep European skies safe and secure. "For six decades, Air Policing has been an important way for NATO to keep our people safe,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
