Official Space Weather Advisory issued by NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center Boulder, Colorado, USA SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #22-34 2022 August 22 at 2:17 a.m. MDT (2022 August 22 0817 UTC) **** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK **** Summary For August 15-21 R1 (Minor) radio blackouts were observed on 15-19 Aug with R2 (Moderate) blackouts observed on 16 Aug due to flare activity from Regions 3078 and 3079. G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm levels were observed on 18-19 Aug and G2 (Moderate) levels were observed on 17 Aug due to a combination of high speed stream activity from a coronal hole and the arrival of CMEs on 17 and 19 Aug. Outlook For August 22-28 G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm levels are likely on 22 Aug due to a potential glancing blow from the 18-19 Aug CMEs as well as persistent coronal hole high speed stream effects. Data used to provide space weather services are contributed by NOAA, USAF, NASA, NSF, USGS, the International Space Environment Services and other observatories, universities, and institutions.
