NASA History Talk:  The NACA and Rotary Aviation

Time/Date/Location:  noon – 1 pm ET, Wednesday August 30, virtual via MS Teams link (no prior registration necessary)

Contact:  Steve Garber (stephen.j.garber@nasa.gov) or Joshua Schmidt (joshua.c.schmidt@nasa.gov)

Description:  Joshua Schmidt is a Presidential Management Fellow on detail to NASA’s History Division from the U.S. Forest Service. His background as a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot motivated him to explore efforts by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) to advance “Rotating-Wing” aviation technology. In this talk, Joshua will explain key takeaways from his research and why they may be impactful, as well as possible avenues to further enhance understanding of the contributions of the NACA to rotary aviation.
