Today, we mark two years since Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine. Starting the biggest war in Europe since World War Two. Let me begin by honouring all those brave Ukrainians who have fallen or been wounded in defence of their homeland.

Today we solemnly mark two years of Russiaâs brutal full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and ten years since Russiaâs illegal annexation of Crimea and initial military intervention in the Donbas.

Deputy Secretary General Mircea GeoanÄ stressed the importance of continued support to Ukraine during a ceremony marking two years since Russiaâs full-fledged invasion of Ukraine in a ceremony at NATO Headquarters on 23 February 2024. The Board advises the Commandant on ways to improve the academic, research and outreach activities of the College, to enhance links with NATO HQ and Allied Command Transformation, and to ensure that the Collegeâs outreach strategies align with those of the Alliance.

Two years have passed since Russiaâs full-fledged invasion of Ukraine. Since then, the people of Ukraine and the Ukrainian armed forces demonstrated their courage, strength and determination to push back the Russian invading forces, bravely defending their freedom and their country.
