Description:
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the world's largest space-based astronomical observatory, is now nearly a million miles from Earth, probing the first stars and galaxies,
documenting the structure and evolution of the universe, and searching for signs of life in other solar systems. Science writer Christopher Wanjek and photographer Chris Gunn combine to tell the story of JWST from conception to launch on 25 December 2021,
in the midst of the global pandemic. JWSTâs development represents a marvel of ingenuity and engineering that entailed more than 100 million people hours over a span of thirty years. Chris Wanjek will provide a brief overview of the mission's history and
NASA photographer Chris Gunn will describe his decade's work in documenting the construction of JWST.
