SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #24-13

**** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****



Summary For March 18-24


Solar activity reached strong (R3) levles with an X1.1 flare on 23 March 2024.



Solar proton flux reached moderate (S2) levels in response to the flare on 23 March 2024.



Geomagnetic activity reached severe levels on 24 March 2024 in response to a coronal mass ejection.that occured in conjunction with the R3 event.





Outlook For March 25-31



Solar activty is expected to range from minor (R1) to strong (R3) levels during the period.



Solar proton activity is expected to begin the week at minor (S1) levles and decrease to background levels suring the week.  The threat of another proton event will remain throughout the week.



The geomagnetic field is expected to begin the period at strong (G3) levels and decreas to quiet to active conditions.  Another geomagnetic storm is possible during the period.
