NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte travelled to Slovakia on 20 February 2025, for meetings with President Peter Pellegrini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Robert KaliÅák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár and Minister of Finance Ladislav Kamenický. While in Slovakia Mr Rutte also visited troops from NATOâs multinational Forward Land Forces stationed in LeÅ¡Å¥ and gave a speech to students at the Comenius University in Bratislava.

Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska travelled to Bydgoszcz, Poland on 17 February 2025 to participate in the opening ceremony of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC). Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Secretary General said that the Centreâs work âwill help the Alliance and Ukraine become stronger.â

Secretary General Mark Rutte attended the Munich Security Conference (MSC) on 14 and 15 February 2025. He stressed the need for a strong NATO, urging European Allies to increase their defence spending and take on more responsibility while calling for industry on both sides of the Atlantic to ramp up defence production.
