NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte participated in the B9 and Nordic Summit in Vilnius on 2 June 2025, hosted by President of Lithuania Gitanas NausÄda, at which Allied leaders were joined by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine. Discussions focused on preparing the NATO Summit in The Hague and strengthening support for Ukraine.

On 2 June 2025, NATOâs Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) launched 10 new challenges aimed at finding the next generation of dual-use deep technologies to help better protect the Allianceâs one billion citizens. Innovators will be able to submit proposals to DIANAâs challenges until 12:00 UTC on Friday 11 July 2025. Selected innovators will join Phase 1 of DIANAâs programme, participating in a six-month accelerator programme starting in January 2026 â becoming part of DIANAâs 2026 cohort of innovators.

As exercise Swift Response 25 draws to a successful close, Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum highlights the importance of this large-scale multinational training event in reinforcing NATOâs collective defence posture. Conducted under the umbrella of DEFENDER-Europe 25 and as a key component of the NATO exercise cluster Griffin Lightning 25, Swift Response 25 has showcased the Allianceâs ability to conduct high-readiness operations across the strategically vital High North and Baltic regions.
