⢠NATO Secretary General hails Czechiaâs strong contributions to Euro-Atlantic security, defence production and support to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte travelled to Czechia on 4 September 2025. He met Prime Minister Petr Fiala and discussed the implementation of decisions taken by Allied leaders at the NATO Summit in The Hague in June, to enhance defence spending and defence production and to continue supporting Ukraine. âCzechia is a staunch and reliable Ally, making important contributions to NATO's deterrence and defence,â the Secretary General said. âYou have a strong defence industry, you contribute to NATO's Forward Land Forces, you have participated in NATO's Air Policing mission. So, Czechia knows what it means to stand by your Allies and NATO Allies stand with you,â he added.

Grand Duke Henri, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Minister of Defence Yuriko Backes and Chamber of Deputies President Claude Wiseler. âYou are a key contributor to NATOâs innovation agenda... and invest in critical satellite capabilities,â Mr Rutte said, noting founding NATO member Luxembourgâs hosting of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), and investments in multinational capabilities such as the Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft.
