On 28 January 2026, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte joined an Industry Day during NATOâs Counter-Uncrewed Autonomous Systems (C-UAS) Week at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The event brought together over 100 representatives from NATO, Allied nations and industry to discuss how best to counter the dangers posed by drones. It follows Alliesâ decision, at the meeting of NATO Defence Ministers in October 2025, to expand NATOâs counter-drone capabilities.

On 26 January 2026, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte took part in an exchange of views with Members of the European Parliamentâs Committees on Security and Defence (SEDE) and Foreign Affairs (AFET). The meeting was held in association with the European Parliamentâs Delegation for relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

NATOâs forces in Slovakia stand ready to assure Allies and increase security in the eastern part of the Alliance. Established after Russiaâs full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, NATOâs forces in Slovakia include a multinational battlegroup led by Spain, with troop contributions from Czechia, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
