We expect a flood of laptop news from CES. Here are the latest stories:

  • AMD debuted its high-performance Ryzen 5000 mobile chips, with dozens of vendors jumping on board. Will it finally give Intel something to worry about? Testing will tell. We do know there are three Ryzen 5000 chips you should avoid.
  • Laptop leader Intel showed off Tiger Lake H35, which it claims will start a new category of ultraportable gaming machines, with a long list of partner vendors. Can it hold fast against AMD? We'll see.

    Paired with a tiny GeForce RTX 3080 eGPU, the Ryzen 5000-based Asus ROG Flow X13 claims it will outperform most bigger gaming laptops.
